The Black Rooster Rub was established in 1970 and has been known to many as the "Cheers" of NW Washington, DC.

It is not unusual to see a mixture of patrons enjoying their favorite libations side by side - from lawyers to construction workers, businessmen to rugby players, and secretaries to dart shooters.

The Rooster has a long tradition in the darting community and is known throughout the city as the pub to go to when interested in darts. The Rooster also sponsors several dart teams who are always interested in new members. The Rooster is also the proud sponsor of the the Northern Virginia Rugby Football Club, as is evident bu the collection of trophies and game balls throughout the pub.
