SafeTrack is a massive effort to rehabilitate the Metrorail system that connects Washington, DC, Northern Virginia, and Maryland. The plan includes weekend closings at midnight and 15 “Safety Surges” that are defined by line-segment shutdowns or long-term single tracking. While Metro SafeTrack is required to address safety recommendations and help the system become reliable again, the disruptions will cause ripple effects through the region as workers, visitors, and residents are asked to make adjustments to their commutes.
But we know you can do it. Take the initiative to talk to your employer and explore different ways to get to work. Have you ever considered ride sharing? How about taking a commuter or local bus? Do any of your coworkers live close enough to ride together?
Find another way to get there. Make your SafeTrack plans today.
