Sustainability

Developing and implementing sustainable solutions for public spaces is a priority for the Golden Triangle BID.

Gold and Green

From building numerous rain gardens to installing bike racks to expanding the recycling program, the BID ensures the neighborhood is Gold and Green.

In 2019 and again in 2024, the BID earned LEED Platinum – the highest level of LEED certification — under the U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) LEED for Communities rating system. The Golden Triangle is the first business improvement district in the world to be named a LEED-certified community.

Green Spaces

Thirty properties in the Golden Triangle have created spaces of environmental benefits, like: plantings that filter pollution, provide habitats for wildlife – like beehives, systems for absorbing rainwater, solar panels, and offer a calming space for employees and residents.
