WASHINGTON, D.C. – (April 16, 2025) – The Golden Triangle Business Improvement District (BID) today announced its spring lineup of events in Farragut Square park. This season, the Golden Triangle will host weekday outdoor activations in May and June that include something for everyone.
Free Pilates classes with a certified instructor kick off on May 6, with TriFit every Tuesday evening in May (5:30 – 6:30 p.m.). Farragut Field Days will return on Wednesdays at lunchtime (12:30 – 2 p.m.) from May 14 – June 18, filling Farragut Square with lawn games, live music, and fun activities like arts and crafts, book sales, and books to borrow through partnering organizations.
Enhancing the park experience, new umbrellas and comfy chairs are being added to Farragut Square. The additions create more shade and an inviting urban oasis to relax outside and gather with others.
This latest slate of BID activations and new park furniture are being made possible by the Streets for People grant program under the District Office of Planning. The initiatives represent an ongoing focus to create fun downtown experiences that engage workers, residents, and visitors in the central office corridor.
Most recently, the BID launched a self-guided, app-based public art walking tour highlighting the Golden Triangle’s impressive collection of museum-quality outdoor artworks. In addition, the BID’s annual Golden Haiku competition brought hundreds of haiku to signs displayed in tree boxes throughout the neighborhood.
Leona Agouridis, President of the Golden Triangle BID, said the BID’s programs are part of a larger effort transforming the Golden Triangle into a premier mixed-use community.
“Farragut Square is at the heart of the Golden Triangle—and with the White House just a block away, we want it to be an inviting space not only for the local community, but also for welcoming tourists,” Agouridis said. “Our activations are designed to bring in more arts, culture, and entertainment that will add to the energy downtown and create fun experiences that everyone can enjoy.”
This fall, the BID is planning even more activations and enhancements for the neighborhood to create a must-experience destination and encourage more people to spend time in the Golden Triangle.
The full slate of Golden Triangle events is listed on the BID’s website.
