Golden Triangle BID Launches Free Events May 12 in Farragut Square

Washington, D.C. (April 22, 2026) – The Golden Triangle Business Improvement District (BID) is activating Farragut Square with the return of its popular outdoor event series this spring. Designed to encourage community connection and wellbeing in the Golden Triangle, the free events invite the public to enjoy camaraderie, recreation, and relaxation in the heart of Washington, DC.

This season’s lineup includes CorePower Yoga classes; live music from Grammy-nominated artist Christylez Bacon with Qi Yu and other acclaimed performers like CantoSur, Kofi Dennis, and the Mark H Taiko Connection; used book sales with Carpe Librum; and pet adoptions (or play!) with the Humane Rescue Alliance.

“We’re inviting everyone to attend our fun outdoor events returning to Farragut Square this spring,” said Leona Agouridis, President and CEO of the Golden Triangle BID. “These free programs provide a refreshing mid-week break where you can de-stress, reconnect, share laughter, and reenergize while you’re downtown.”

The Golden Triangle BID’s spring lineup runs May 12 through June 24, providing weekly fitness and entertainment opportunities. All events are open to the public and held in Farragut Square.

Last year, the BID enhanced Farragut Square with new amenities, adding pink shade umbrellas with bistro style seating around the statue of Admiral Farragut, and comfortable chairs throughout the park. The park enhancements and returning events underscore the Golden Triangle BID’s commitment to create engaging public spaces and enhance the quality of life for those who work in, visit, or live in the Golden Triangle.
