Golden Triangle Business Improvement District Announces Modified Outdoor Activations

Wednesday, April 21, 2021

Washington, D.C. (April 21, 2021) – As vaccinations continue and workers, residents, and visitors begin to return to downtown, the Golden Triangle Business Improvement District (BID) welcomes them with opportunities to enjoy safe, socially distanced activities in parks throughout the neighborhood.

Beginning in May in Farragut Square and in accordance with CDC, National Park Service, and District of Columbia health and safety guidelines, the BID will kick off its Outdoor Office series, followed by the free outdoor exercise program, TriFit. The BID will also add extra tables and chairs in Farragut, Longfellow, and Monroe parks to create additional outdoor working space on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

“As more people are vaccinated and returning to downtown and their offices, we are excited to provide these outdoor activations,” said Leona Agouridis, Executive Director of the Golden Triangle BID. “Whether you want to have lunch in the park or catch up with an old friend over coffee, the Golden Triangle is ready to welcome you back with safe, distanced, outdoor options in our beautiful parks.”

Outdoor Office

For the sixth year running, Outdoor Office kicks off on Monday, May 3 in Farragut Square. Outdoor seating will be available for use on weekdays (except holidays) from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Enjoy socially distanced tables and chairs throughout the park – perfect for working, eating, and meeting safely while enjoying the neighborhood.

TriFit: Free Outdoor Fitness Classes in Farragut Square

Beginning May 5, the Golden Triangle BID’s outdoor fitness program, TriFit, will take place in Farragut Square on Wednesdays from 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. All classes are led by top, certified instructors and are free to attend. Due to social distancing requirements, space is limited, and advanced reservations are required. This year’s exercise program currently features Pilates on Wednesdays.

In accordance with CDC, National Park Service, and District of Columbia requirements, masks and social distancing are required to participate in these activations. Check the events section on the Golden Triangle website for activation updates.
