DC’s Golden Triangle BID Rolls Out Free Fall Events as More Workers Return to Downtown Offices

Featuring a Chilean Dance Performance, Fitness Classes, and a Live Music Series

WASHINGTON, D.C. – September 13, 2023 – The Golden Triangle Business Improvement District (BID) today announced its fall schedule of GLDN+ Events, a series of free and engaging events aimed at enriching the experience of visitors and workers in the District’s downtown. The schedule includes a Chilean dance performance, weekly Pilates classes, and weekly live music performances.

The events start today and offer something for everyone. “We know a lot more people are in the office after Labor Day and we want to continue to help people find more ways to enjoy downtown,” said Leona Agouridis, President of the Golden Triangle BID. “We do a lot of outdoor programming and activation, and this is a great time of year for people to come to the Golden Triangle and explore.”

This new wave of programming comes as the Golden Triangle BID and neighboring areas seek innovative ways to welcome workers back to the central office corridor following the pandemic.

The first of many exciting events is this evening, with a performance by Chilean dance group, Ballet Folklorico Municipal Lago Ranco. This touring dance group is visiting the United States and sharing their cultural heritage through a series of performances in the Golden Triangle at Murrow Park (1805 Pennsylvania Avenue NW) on September 13th at 5:30 pm. The show consists of three 20-minute performances, each celebrating different regions of Chile; North of Chile (Aymara), Traditional Cueca (Central Chile), and Rapa Nui (Eastern Island).

If exercise is more your style, mark your calendars for September 20th when GLDN+ TriFit resumes with fitness classes through October. The hour-long Pilates sessions, led by a certified instructor, are held every Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in Murrow Park (1805 Pennsylvania Avenue NW). Register in advance to secure your spot.

The following week, listen for music around the block as the Golden Triangle brings back GLDN+ Sounds, a live music series that kicked off in spring and runs every Wednesday at noon, starting September 20th through October. Local musicians with a range of musical styles will perform at various GLDN+ Parklets throughout the series. Explore the full fall lineup here.

On September 29 th at 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. head to the Connecticut Avenue Overlook for a Go-Go concert. As part of Art All Night, the BID is collaborating with DC’s Office of Cable Television, Film, Music & Entertainment on this special event featuring the official music of DC.

In addition to the GLDN+ Events, the Golden Triangle is enhancing its downtown pathways by seamlessly adding additional public art on street corners and sidewalks.
